Maintenance Technician

Reports to: Maintenance Lead & Safety Specialist

Department: Entire Mfg Facility

Job Summary: Involved in Maintenance Department activities that ensure all production and support systems are operated in a safe and efficient manner. Responsible for assigned breakdown repairs, preventive and predictive maintenance and root cause analysis. This opportunity may be paired with an existing role as workload allows.

Duties and Responsibilities: Will be be involved in programs/projects to ensure activities are carried out to support organization. Intend for 20 hours/week to be dedicated to maintenance and 20 hours on production floor.

Specifically:

  • Ensures the safe maintenance and the repair or replacement of the Plant equipment and systems.
  • Responsible for timely equipment inspections and repairs with little or no supervision.
  • Provides technical solutions to ensure maximum production quality and quantity.
  • Attends training for safety and technical areas to continuously improve abilities.
  • Provides troubleshooting of maintenance problems and coordinates required solutions for HVAC, fire, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical issues.
  • Actively involved in major maintenance projects.
  • Works with outside contractors for equipment and facility repairs.
  • Provides solutions for timely preventative maintenance and repairs.
  • Provides maintenance of buildings and grounds.
  • Demonstrates accountability for all safety procedures, leading by example.
  • Operate forklift as required.
  • Record maintenance documentation using Access.
  • Perform additional projects as assigned.
  • Regular attendance is an essential function of this position.
Education & Experience:
  • High School Diploma, Associate degree in technical field preferred.
  • Five plus years of plant maintenance preferably in a heavy manufacturing setting, preferred.
Skills & Qualifications:
  • Ability to read blue prints, schematics and technical diagrams.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
  • Familiar with hydraulics, electrical pneumatics & mechanical maintenance.
  • Strong written and oral communications skills.
  • Ability to use and understand MS Office.
  • Ability to take direction and willingness to learn.
Safety Requirements:

While performing the duties of this position, employee is regularly required to walk, stand, use hands and fingers, grip; reach; bend, twist, squat, pull; and talk and hear. Must be able to stand for long periods of time. Ability to lift 75 lbs. Must wear PPE while on the floor. Demonstrates accountability for all safety procedures. General Laborer Paint - Dip Tank Painter & Material Handler

Reports to: Paint Supervisor

Department: Mfg Paint

Job Summary: The Dip Tank Painter / Material Handler provides production support by running machines and ensuring a safe work environment by following instructions from Supervisor.

Duties and Responsibilities: Under general supervision, performs routine paint production responsibilities.

Specifically:

  • Load and unload items from machines and assembly lines.
  • Operate machines.
  • Hold or supply materials and tools.
  • Locate parts, tag them with identifying text and numbers.
  • Record production information such as gauge readings, products produced, material usage and manufacturing times.
  • Clean and prep parts for both Ag and Structural departments.
  • Visually check parts before painting and after cleaning to ensure part prep is complete.
  • Visually check parts after painting for paint runs and light or missed spots.
  • Apply surface coatings to completed parts using dip tank.
  • Ensure defective products or observed equipment malfunctions are reported and repaired.
  • Ensure the proper handling and disposal of waste materials as directed by Safety Specialist.
  • Clean and lubricate equipment; clean-up work areas - set out or put away tools, supplies and materials; ensure manufacturing areas are free of debris and dirt.
  • Comply with standard safety practices and procedures.
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned.
  • Regular attendance is an essential function of this position.
Education & Experience:
  • HS Diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to understand and practice painting methods, safety practices and procedures.
  • Ability to perform all operations within acceptable quality and time standards.
  • Ability to recognize quality expected and be able to reproduce it.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of changing situations.
  • Ability to read, write, comprehend, and verbally communicate simple instructions, short correspondence and memos in English.
  • Ability to work overtime.
  • Valid driver’s license (Fork truck requirement).
Safety/Physical Requirements:

The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. This job operates in a service setting. This role uses office equipment such as computers and phones, photocopiers. Ability to lift 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision and distance vision. Floater - Manufacturing / Paint

Reports to: Paint Supervisor

Department: Production

Job Summary: The Floater uses a pressure washer, maintains worksite and equipment, and assists painters as needed.

Duties and Responsibilities: Under general supervision, performs routine prep work; cleans up at end of shift; uses required PPE.

Specifically:

  • Prep paint carts
  • Grease bushings
  • Ensure flow of carts (order of completion)
  • Assist in helping painters with pushing of carts
  • Ensure correct pH levels with discharge of tanks
  • Assist with paint loading
  • Perform daily routine clean up duties
  • Additional duties as assigned by supervisor or manager
  • Regular attendance is an essential function of this position
Education & Experience:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Related experience or training preferred.
Skills & Qualifications:
  • Ability to perform all operations within acceptable quality and time standards.
  • Ability to deal with routine situations.
  • Ability to perform simple math.
  • Ability to understand and practice pressure washing methods, safety practices and procedures.
  • Ability to provide flexibility as needed to move between departments.
Safety Requirements:

Able to stand for long periods of time. Able to bend / stoop continuously. Able to squat, kneel occasionally. Able to push and pull heavy (100 lbs.) carts frequently. Able to lift up to 50 lbs. Able to handle extreme temperatures. Able to grip trigger as necessary for pressure washing. Must wear personal protective equipment while in the manufacturing plant or structural shop.

  • Locate parts, tag them with identifying text and numbers.
  • Record production information such as gauge readings, products produced and manufacturing times.
  • Ensure defective products or observed equipment malfunctions are reported and repaired.
  • Regular attendance is an essential function of this position.
Education & Experience:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior production floor experience, preferred.
  • Forklift certified or ability to become certified, preferred.
  • Proficient communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to perform all operations within acceptable quality and time standards.
  • Ability to recognize quality expected and be able to reproduce it.
Safety Requirements:
