Maintenance Technician

Reports to: Maintenance Supervisor & Safety Specialist

Department: Entire Mfg Facility

Job Summary: Involved in Maintenance Department activities that ensure all production and support systems are operated in a safe and efficient manner. Responsible for assigned breakdown repairs, preventive and predictive maintenance and root cause analysis. This opportunity may be paired with an existing role as workload allows.

Duties and Responsibilities: Will be be involved in programs/projects to ensure activities are carried out to support organization. Intend for 20 hours/week to be dedicated to maintenance and 20 hours on production floor.


  1. Ensures the safe maintenance and the repair or replacement of the Plant equipment and systems.
  2. Responsible for timely equipment inspections and repairs with little or no supervision.
  3. Provides technical solutions to ensure maximum production quality and quantity.
  4. Attends training for safety and technical areas to continuously improve abilities.
  5. Provides troubleshooting of maintenance problems and coordinates required solutions for HVAC, fire, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical issues.
  6. Actively involved in major maintenance projects
  7. Works with outside contractors for equipment and facility repairs.
  8. Provides solutions for timely preventative maintenance and repairs.
  9. Provides maintenance of buildings and grounds.
  10. Demonstrates accountability for all safety procedures, leading by example
  11. Operate forklift as required.
  12. Record maintenance documentation using Access.
  13. Perform additional projects as assigned.
  14. Regular attendance is an essential function of this position.
Education & Experience:
  • High School Diploma, Associate degree in technical field preferred.
  • Five plus years of plant maintenance preferably in a heavy manufacturing setting, preferred.
Skills & Qualifications:
  • Ability to read blue prints, schematics and technical diagrams
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills
  • Familiar with hydraulics, electrical pneumatics & mechanical maintenance
  • Strong written and oral communications skills.
  • Ability to use and understand MS Office.
  • Ability to take direction and willingness to learn.
Safety Requirements:

While performing the duties of this position, employee is regularly required to walk, stand, use hands and fingers, grip; reach; bend, twist, squat, pull; and talk and hear. Must be able to stand for long periods of time. Ability to lift 75 lbs. Must wear PPE while on the floor. Demonstrates accountability for all safety procedures.
